  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Using unsalted butter helps control the saltiness.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Can substitute with dark or white chocolate chips.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  3. Remove the melted butter from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Beat in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, mixing just until all ingredients are combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly across the surface.
  6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly on top of the brownie batter.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. They are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  2. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
Decoration
  1. Once cool, melt the white chocolate and drizzle it across the brownies in a spider web pattern.
  2. Place candy spiders on top of the white chocolate web.
  3. Cut into squares and serve.
