Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
- Add the softened unsalted butter, large eggs, and vanilla extract into the dry mixture. Blend using a hand mixer or whisk until it forms a thick batter.
- Gradually pour in the milk, mixing until the batter is smooth and well-combined.
Baking
- Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners until they are about two-thirds full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Decoration
- Once baked, allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Once completely cool, frost generously with chocolate frosting.
- Melt the white chocolate carefully and drizzle it over the frosted cupcakes in a web pattern.
- Finish off by placing candy spiders on top of each cupcake for a festive touch.
Notes
Store the cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat them in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds before serving.
