Ingredients

For the Sliders
  • 12 pieces Hawaiian slider rolls, split
  • 3 cups cooked leftover turkey, thinly sliced or shredded Use moist turkey; both white and dark meat work well.
  • 1/2 cup leftover cranberry sauce Can substitute with apricot preserves, fig jam, or apple chutney.
  • 1/2 cup leftover stuffing, warmed (optional) Can replace with sautéed onions and celery.
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Can also use softened cream cheese or plain Greek yogurt.
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese Can substitute with provolone, cheddar, or mozzarella.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried minced onion
  • 1 cup arugula or mixed greens, for topping Add just before serving for freshness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the full sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half in the baking dish.
  3. Spread the mixture of mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and honey evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
Layering the Filling
  1. Layer the turkey evenly on the rolls, followed by Swiss cheese slices, and then cranberry sauce.
  2. If using stuffing, dollop small spoonfuls over the top evenly.
Finishing Touches
  1. Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
  2. Mix melted butter with poppy seeds, garlic powder, and dried minced onion. Brush generously over the tops of the rolls.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese melts and tops are golden.
  2. Cool for 5 minutes then add arugula or mixed greens on top, slice along the roll lines, and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftover sliders in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze wrapped tightly for up to 2 months. Reheat carefully to maintain softness.
