Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 4 cups cubed watermelon
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional) Adjust to taste
  • 4 cups water or soda water
  • Ice cubes For serving
  • Mint sprigs for garnish For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by placing the cubed watermelon in a blender. Blend the watermelon until it is completely smooth.
  2. Next, take a fine mesh sieve and place it over a pitcher. Pour the blended watermelon into the sieve and use a spatula to push the juice through, leaving any pulp behind.
  3. Add the fresh mint leaves to the pitcher of watermelon juice. Gently press down on the mint leaves to release their flavor into the juice.
  4. Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice. If you want a touch of sweetness, add the optional sugar and mix well until dissolved.
  5. Slowly pour in the water or soda water, stirring for a consistent mix.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the watermelon mint lemonade over the ice. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

Store leftover lemonade in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to three days. You can also freeze it for up to two months for future use.
